Welcome to my website.
I feature "Once Upon An Apron" which means that most are one-of-a-kind. I enjoy creating new patterns and embellishing them with ruffles, lace, buttons, flowers and all things fancy..........
Each one is tagged with a little story of Grandma's Apron and this wonderful tradition that has been passed down through the ages.
If you have something special you would like put on an apron, let me know and I will create one.
These pretty aprons are made using vintage linens ie. table clothes, napkins and crocheted dolies.Ties are made with satin ribbon.
It's nice to take some special handmade items and make a keepsake apron. The one above is full, while the lower one is half with a doily waist band. The right photo shows the heart-shaped pocket.
This old fashioned 'flapper' apron has a Christmas theme. The reverse is red with tiny white dots and pockets are the same as the side sh
This is called "Apron on the Square" and could be reversed. The pocket and folded corner at the top have decorative, colourful buttons. This particular fabric is great for someone who spends time in Florida. I have some Christmas aprons using this pattern.
My half aprons are all decked out with lace, flowers, ruffles and flare. It's just fun and fashion in the kitchen now!!
What's this? The pocket looks like the cuff of a shirt. Yes, it's a dress shirt once worn by an employee of Bruce Power........now a sassy little apron for the Mrs. (or Miss or Ms)...........
This apron is sold but I can custom make any shirt you may have..........
Prices on the aprons range from $20 to $35. No tax.
All shirt aprons are just $20.
Right apron features bears.
Don't forget about our men folk and boys who love to cook and do crafts. They will like to wear these denim aprons with an oversized pocket. They range in price from $12 for the small to $25 for the large.
Here's an example of matching floral aprons.
I have a special price for a pair of matching aprons. These aprons are samples only and have sold.
The polka-dot aprons shown here are made with authentic 'oil-cloth' and matching ribbon ties. They are perfect for the big or little crafts person or someone who works with water ie. animal groomer, hair stylist or fisher person. Sizes range from very small to large. Prices range from $10 for small to $20 for large.
I create these bears from some favourite clothing or item ( ie. quilt) that a loved one has used.
The two bears on the left were created from an extra- large Tommy Hilfiger hooded shirt and the green and white was a company sweat-shirt. Both belonged to a dear husband and father and now grace the homes of his children and Mother.
These charmers are made from a late friends' ties. His daughters love the memory of the vast collection their dad had for his job as principal. Sadly, the photo does not do them justice............
My husband gave me his Stayner Collegiate shirt and I gave him a bear..............
Prices range according to the labour. Making a bear from ties creates much more time than from a shirt. The blue bear above would cost $30. It measures 15 inches long.
My Scarves are knit with beautiful trellis or ribbon yarns.
Most measure about 72 inches in length and have a fringe. $25
This pattern is an open 'net' like stitch made with suede yarn. There is no fringe. These are great with denim and also make great belts for jeans.
Thanks for looking. Perhaps I will see you with my items at a local Bazaar this fall..........
